Anyone with the knowhow, can you tell me how textures need to be set in Blender in order to be exported properly to a nif? Must they be in their own material? Or is setting them in the UV editor enough? Or some other way I’m not aware of?

The former, they need to be assigned in the shading menu and also make sure to set Map Input to UV.

I have always put the textures on in nifskope after exporting them, however models still need some sort of texture in order to be exported. This, I believe, must be set as sweetroll has said.
