The Roscrean ships are pretty well complete!

Some work on Roscrean boats recently - small rowboat and whaling boat are ready. Stay tuned for a larger longboat & corsair warship!

Sweet! Loving the Tasmanian Tiger from my home state in Australia... they always talked about bringing them back from extinction with DNA techniques

Nord ships pretty much ready - here are 3 of 4 directly substituted for the vanilla boat files in-game without any tweaks.  Options include sails-up variations. Altered versions to be used in Roscrea and Atmora.

Thanks for the feedback! And Lux, I see what you did there
There are a couple of banners/crests converted for the ships to use, but more will need doing. The Eltheric banner on top is just a placeholder until proper flags can be done, though.
Argor, yeah, the ships do look dark. That's kind of intentional though - a lot of the HR architecture sets use dark wood and stone, and also historic ships were painted really dark with pine tar to stop the wood rotting. So, a bit of a stylistic choice! That said, the vanilla Skyrim ships are far too bright imo

Argor, those robes look fantastic! Browsing through the past few pages, the calibre of the work posted here is great.

Recently finished working on a few Bretic ships for the IB team. No animations (yet?).  Here they are in some Farrun livery. Next on my list, some Elsweyr and Atmoran ships...  If anyone's interested I've put non-BS versions on the Nexus for general use: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77174

Thanks for your response, and excuse my tardiness in replying - I've been away for a bit  As my time is pretty short, I'm thinking it might be best to adapt my existing Nord ship resources for your use, rather than create entirely new models. Like you say, the cultural heritage of the Nords/Roscrean boatbuilding tradition would have been the more archetypal "Viking" Atmorans anyway. So maybe if I strengthen those Atmoran ties - i.e. if I do away with the "cabins" on my models, and make the ships fully symmetrical (as Vikings never had built-on structures on their perfectly-balanced ships), and also exclude the huge ship (again, as Vikings never used massive cargo/warships, but had more, and smaller trade/raiding vessels) - would that make sense?
The only problem I can see is that this would make the ships look a lot more generic "Viking-ey".  We'd need a way to make them look a bit more distinctively Roscrean. Figureheads would be a good start - are there any totems or similar that could be adapted?  But also, what else could be done to lend a distinct Roscrean flavour?
I've just had a play around with ideas, and have some screens to share. Best to start a new thread? Or do you guys have a discord or slack I could use?

Hey, not sure whether to start a new topic or not, but I'd be happy to try and tackle some original ship models for Roscrea.  I know from browsing the forum that whaling is a big part of Roscrean culture, so clearly traditional whaling boats are needed.  @Bellatrix also has mentioned "unique boats for the corsairs (pirates) as well as native Roscrean fishermen" - what's the brief here? As I'm new I don't really know the stylistic or cultural points of difference between Roscrea and Skyrim - but presumably the boats would similarly follow a broad Nordic kind of theme?

If you'd be interested I would love for someone to do this!  I've done a couple of models since I uploaded that to the nexus, and it's a slow process that I'm not great at... so feel free to contact me and I'll happily pass the files on to you

Thanks for the enthusiasm and interest
Re. the Roscrean boats - I'm intrigued. Is the culture very different to that of the Nords? I was thinking that a larger, slightly edited version of my Nord dinghy would make a perfect whaling boat.  Even better - is there any concept art or lore primer I could look at? I'm extremely limited for time but if I could bash out a mesh or two in the next couple of days I have free, perhaps that could be of use.

    Hi all,
Not as much a request to join the team (unfortunately my time is very limited - would love to otherwise ), but an offer for some resources I've been creating.  I've been in the process of modelling sets of boats for various cultures around Tamriel. I think links to some of my models, found here, have been posted to the DC forum before. Would my Nordic collection be of interest to Roscrea? The models are currently untextured and have not had uvs mapped - but are otherwise complete. .obj files are on the nexus link, .nif variants (inc. collision) will be available.
At the moment I have a fully CK-ready, mapped, textured version of the "Nord Rowboat" with collision.  "Trade boat" variant might be ready before too long, with luck. My knowledge of Roscrean lore is pretty hazy but perhaps there's potential to adapt these models to your purposes?

Hi all, not as much a request to join the team (unfortunately my time is very limited - would love to otherwise ), but an offer for some resources I've been creating.  I've been in the process of modelling sets of boats for various cultures around Tamriel. I think links to some of my models, found here, have been posted to the DC forum before. I'm currently working on Imperial vessels, similar to the Oblivion ship but with a more Mediterranean Renaissance carrack/galleon flavour.   I currently have a finished Imperial Trade Ship mesh, with Imperial galleon and capital ship/Katariah models both underway.  These models are currently untextured and have not had uvs mapped. .nif variants (inc. collision) will be available.  Would these be of interest to Cyrodiil?  I can (very very slowly) map and texture these if need be - but I'm sure you have folks who could do a better and much faster job than me.
Let me know especially if anybody can texture the trade ship - I can pass that on right away!
    Cheers
