  1. Application: Character/quest writer

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. I'm from the Morrowind Team. I like your stories and I'd love to see what you could do in an established setting. Would you be open to responding to a prompt? I'd love to see how you do at writing something off the cuff. Pick one of the following and have fun! 1. Two wizards are arguing over the particulars of a new spell. You decide what spell. Write a series of letters (no fewer than three) where you get across the details of the spell through the letters without ever overtly saying what the spell does. 2. Two NPCs belong to a guild or organization of your choosing in Morrowind. Have a brief scene where they discuss a particular bit of news that reveals something about these guilds to the PLAYER. 3. PLAYER meets Gadal Omayn, currently the Grand Councilor in the Shad Ebon in Blacklight. Using existing lore, the PLAYER can ask her questions about her background. Write between 3 to 5 questions and responses. Both the questions and dialog responses should naturally address her background, history, and current work. 4. Write a lore book that will level up your Two Handed skill. 5. Write an excerpt from a journal of a thief that tried to steal from the dead in the catacombs of Necrom. The thief died in the Catacombs after being driven mad by the spirits there.
  2. As Morrowgan noted, Port Telvannis is planned in the Dreams of the East. Let me know if you need a link.
  3. Hi Thorne, Things are moving along quite smoothly. We're currently actively working on our two pre-releases (The New North - Bleakrock and Sheogorad) and Dreams of the East (Telvanni Isles and environs). As I mentioned in the writer role-call PM, a majority of the creative brainstorming is taking place on our Discord Server, and much of our finished work and WIPs are on the Google-Drive. If you'd like to be part of the process, the invite to the discord server still stands. Send me a PM and I'll get you a new link. Regards, Jaberkaty & Team Morrowind
  4. Recruitment for Morrowind (quest writing)

Hi @Ir0nBUNNY - I'm the writing lead for the Morrowind Team. Could you send me a message in response to one of the following prompts? Pick your favorite: 1. 3. The thief died in the Catacombs after being driven mad by the spirits there.
  5. You've mentioned that this isn't your best work, and TBH, I've got a few concerns, but I can also see some strength here. I'd like to see how you create to our world. Could you respond to one of the following prompts. Just pick the one you like best: 1. 3. It's Tas! Hi, from Morrowind! I'm currently working on a couple of projects with Tas. He's awesome!
  8. INote: This came out of a discussion that we were having of the placements of heartstone deposits across Morrowind, and the notion that someone would be selling ash as Fertilizer, which makes sense. Strange eastern magic raises the dead. THE GREENWAY, IC – Gardening got a little out of hand when Vera and Trentus Bractus, who tended portions of the Greenway of our fair city, when the fertilizer they used came mixed with magic – monsters attacked. Apparently, they had been importing some ashen fertilizer from Morrowind. Several enterprising Dunmer had been selling the large quantities of ash that spill unceasingly on their land as fertilizer to Cyrodiil. But this caused the dirt atop the graves to form strange, sentient golem entities that attacked the gardeners and passers-by. “We didn’t know it was going cause our flowerbeds to rise up and attack us,” said Vera, dabbing her eyes with a silk handkerchief. “I just wanted my Alkanet flowers to bloom like Rina’s – Rina is my next-door neighbor in the Elven Gardens District. I can never seem to get mine to be as bright blue or as tall.” According to Imports and Customs, the problem wasn’t the ash itself, but something called “Heartstones” was that was included in the last shipment. Thinking it was nothing more than extra volcanic rock, the Bractuses simply tilled them into the soil. But according to Nyra Laverre of the Synod, it was enough to cause the dirt coalesce into something she calls a Garden Spawn. They were described as shambling, vaguely humanoid clods of dirt with glowing hearts and eyes. “Look, I don’t have a lot of time, I’ll see if I can explain it so your ilk can understand,” said Laverre. “The ash and heartstones can tap into the life essence of the dead – the heartstone being the stuff of creation, makes a semblance of life when it comes near dead matter – a soul echoe, if you will. And what is the greenway filled with? That’s right – dead people. So Ash, plus Heartstones, plus dead equals more trouble than I really need on a Morndas. Now, if you’ll excuse me.” The guard were able to put the creatures down without much effort, though Vera said that her cat Nippy was not so fortunate. Steps are being taken by customs to ensure no other magickal items slip through the border. Once put down, the creatures looked like little more than piles of rocky mud with a few flowers sticking out here and there. “Frankly, I’m done with using foreign fertilizer. We have plenty of horses and sheep and that worked just fine for my pappy and his pappy before him. Just thought I was getting a good deal, but no thank you,” said Trentus.
  9. Hi, Morrowgan. I messaged you the information on Discord. Let me know if there's anything else you need. -Jaberkaty Please PM me some samples of your writing in links or in docs. Thanks!
  10. That sounds wonderful! Could you link to or post some samples of your work?
  11. Dialogue Writer Looking to Help!

Personally, I think you did a great job - especially if you were typing on mobile. Spelling is an easy fix, getting a good feel for dialog and pacing is much harder, and you clearly have that.
