  2. Hey, everyone! I'm recruiting voice actors for my in-development quest & follower mod, Memoirs of the Abyss. You can get further details about the mod and the casting call process here; https://www.castingcall.club/projects/memoirs-of-the-abyss-follower-quest-mod-for-tesv-skyrim Looking forward to hearing your voices!
  3. I’ve managed to come up with something unexpected for Morrowind. It’s like this: Something LIKE Dagoth Ur has returned, but the houses of Morrowind are too busy to deal with it. During the Dragonborn’s visit to Morrowind, he uncovers that it’s not really Dagoth Ur, but rather Dagoth Ur’s spirit inhabiting his mask and was biding his time for a poor unfortunate to find the mask in the aftermath of the Red Mountain’s most powerful eruption. When that unfortunate finds it, the spirit in the mask possesses him and uses him as a vessel to return. But halfway through the boss fight with him, the poor soul manages to break free enough to tell his story, leaving the Dragonborn with a tough moral decision: can he justify killing someone who is essentially an innocent victim?
  4. I’ve managed to get some details down for Neal, because it’s his antics and sheer luck that helps out in the quest concepts The Power of Seven, and The Prison at World’s End. physical description: he’s a really skinny guy, the kind that looks more comfortable in a library than in the field, and he wears goggles with blue-tinted lenses that completely cover his eyes. He carries an enormous backpack on his back that looks like if he bent over backwards, it would land him on his back. personality description: he’s a sunny optimist with an insatiable curiosity that often makes him push buttons (physical, not mental) that he shouldn’t. way of talking: “Oh, true story. So, I popped a piton on a mountain climb in the southern Jer’ell mountains a few weeks back, or maybe it was two or three years back. Anyway, I spent a whole week dangling from a cliff in the middle of a raging blizzard! *hoo hoo hoo hoo* (kinda kooky laugh).” description of his special power: It’s like no matter if he stays with you or you leave him outside, he always manages to beat you to the near end of the dungeon. He does this by finding a hole to peer into, tripping and falling in, and shooting down like a rocket face first.
  5. The Prison at World’s End

This was inspired in part by Coracavus Prison from Dragon Age: Inquisition, Taghira from MYST V: End of Ages, America’s Alcatraz, Australia’s Cockatoo Island, and similar infamous prisons, just so you know what to blame. —- On an island of black obsidian in what would now be High Rock, the First Empire erected an ancient prison, the Black Mountain. Those who had committed monstrous, unforgivable crimes would be imprisoned there for life. But an ancient power that the Dragonborn would benefit from is also locked away there, but most records of Black Mountain vanished when the Hurling Disk happened. —- So the quest can be broken down into four parts: locate the island, get there, get into the prison, collect the power and get out alive.
  6. Revenge of the Wamasu

I’ve got an idea for a quest series involving the Wamasus of Black Marsh: The main reason that Hayne (shortened because I can’t pronounce the name right) was so difficult to defeat was because he was Alduin’s most loyal, non-Dovah follower, and was rewarded for his service. With Alduin’s return comes Hayne’s return, with orders from Alduin’s to subjugate the marshes. This quest is part of the main questline, and also includes some racial dialogue, based off of your own race. For example: Hayne, If your character is a nord: “I’ve killed your ancestor and I’ll kill you as well (and avenge Alduin’s fall (if Alduin is defeated)).” You: “Then I’ll avenge my ancestor’s death!” Hayne: “We will see.” Hayne, If your character is a dunmer: “Do you know who I am? I’m the one who put that scar on Nerevar’s face! You’lol be lucky if you get away with your life!”
  7. Unification war

When I saw the mention of the turmoil in High Rock, it made me realize the potential of a Unification War. After you manage to “claim your own hill”, you can chose how to unify High Rock, whether through war or peace.
  8. I managed to come up with a Tamrielic version of the Tragedy of Saul and David that would also do some good for the central part of Cyrodiil: During the Dragonborn’s adventures in Cyrodiil, he eventually gets to/enter the Imperial City. Just as he or she is asking for directions from an imperial city guard, a leveled dragon attacks. After the Dragonborn kills it with ease, he is introduced to the Imperial Council as well as the Emperor(if Dark Brotherhood questline is not followed)/Steward ((Tolkien Easter egg) if it is). After the Dragonborn is introduced to the council, he fulfills a number of quests to be named the new Champion of Cyrodiil. However, this is causing some negative reputation points with the nobility even as it causes some positive reputation points with The commoners (“Saul has killed thousands, while David has killed tens of thousands.”). Eventually the Emperor/Steward tries to kill you. This might or might not result in a Unification War questline.
  9. Hello! My name is DrLacevil and I would like to apply for the Beyond Skyrim project development. I was following BS long before Bruma release, but after that I've become truly inspired, as I've witnessed that the progress is actually being made. I view my application as a mean to give something back to community, while also working with the universe I love. I know, you are probably tired of bums like me who think that having a computer and a text editor makes you a "writer", or maybe you are full on staff in the writing department, but I would still like to take my chance and apply for the position. As an example of my work I provide a mockup quest, which combines not overly detailed quest outline and examples of dialogue within it. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tFd3GeBu7XY0gb6E33qx5etJKn1t8Mfu3mi5AbyBZKc/edit?usp=sharing Thank you for your attention.
  10. Quest Ideas?

Hello there Beyond Skyrim: Roots Of The Wild Development Team! I was wondering if I could somehow leave ideas I have for quests for your mod onto this forum? I've kind of always been interested in writing books and stories, especially fantasy and sci-fi. I don't really have much of a record, except winning a few Story contests at my old school. However, I have written a piece of fan-ficiton which received decent reviews from some of my friends. I really just spotted this project and saw how ambitious you guys are, and I want to help in any way possible for this to succeed. I don't really have any experience when it comes to modding, aside from some poorly created npcs as experimentation. Idea-spawning is all I really have. I know I sound really unproffesional and that's quite frankly because I am, but I just thought I'd ask if you need some ideas for quests. So, can I write some ideas for quests on your discord channel or on this forum? Do you guys want me to send a piece of fan-fiction for you guys? Thank you for your time.
  11. Hello BS team, I am Yyshch and I am applying for a position on the writing department mainly for Cyrodiil, but would be open to working on other provinces if I am so inclined. I am a 23 year old who recently completed my bachelor's degree in political science, so I have been writing in one form or another non-stop for the past 6 years. In relation to my educational/professional background, I am also a managing editor and contributor at a small but growing NGO concerned mainly with international relations, security politics and strategic studies in a global context. As my first foray into the world of the Elder Scrolls, TESV Skyrim was incredibly immersive but I was ultimately left feeling not quite satisfied with some of the political and historical developments of the game which seemed to be underdeveloped and underwhelming. I had sunk 200 hours into one playthrough but was still left with burning questions at the state of Tamriel beyond the borders of Skyrim (and Skyrim itself). It seemed impractical that the goings-on of the world around the Nords stopped merely at the borders and had no effect on anybody else in the game. To make a long story short, the base game (and DLCs) gave me only a slice--and I want the whole cake. Seeing the success of BS: Bruma and the professionalism of the BS team inspired me to consider contributing to the development of this labor of love, and I believe my background in studying politics--from language to interstate war--would be a valuable asset to the team in developing the other provinces of Tamriel. I mainly wanted to work on Faction Quests and side quests and characters in the province of Cyrodiil. When I look at the political frame of the Empire in 4E 201, I see many parallels between them and Cold War and 21st century US contexts, and exploring this dynamic is something I have spent countless hours doing as part of my academic career. I also wanted to bring side characters that the player has an opportunity to really connect with and establish a fleshed-out and tangible relationship with, as I feel like this aspect was overlooked in the base game. I want the denizens of the province to grant the player a variety of playstyles and choices throughout their interactions in order to create a more meaningful and memorable experience. Please find attached two quest samples I have done for a group of rare NPC side characters and corresponding NPCs. Narrative text is labeled in yellow; player text is labeled in red; various other color labels represent the several NPCs throughout the samples. I confess I became a little invested in writing the samples and so you may have to zoom in on the application before the text appears, but it is there (I managed to stop myself short before I wrote complete backstories and supporting documentation). I look forward to hearing from you soon, and I certainly look forward to the content that is to come from this amazing project. Regards, Yyshch Quest Sample.graphml Quest Sample 2.graphml
  12. Hi all, I've only been using Bruma for a day or two now and I'm at the point in the game where I've been instructed to go to Thorina's Cutter's hideout and kill the leader and I'm at the entrance to the cave and it just isn't working, I cannot enter. Are there any console commands or workarounds I could do to get past this? I really love this questline and I just want to get to the next part of it, this glitch/bug thing is kind of a huge issue. I would really appreciate any help I could get!
  13. Application: Character/quest writer

Hi team, My name is Gabriel, but I'm going under the bl4nkp4gescr1be moniker around these parts. Almost 30 now, I work in the translation business, but had a previous stint in the video gaming business too. Most importantly, I'm a writer in my spare time - running my own blog (link here) where I post my fantasy & sci-fi short stories. I've already contributed as a guest blogger to industry blogs too. Contributing to a video gaming project has long been one of my goals, so I'm applying for a position in the Beyond Skyrim team of writers. I have no preference as far as the region of Tamriel goes (spent most time in Cyrodiil & Skyrim though) - I'm a huge TES fan and would love to contribute across the board. As you guys are probably too busy to sift through the entirety of my blog anyway, selecting a couple of examples of short stories of the fantasy sort for you take a look at and get a sense of the style & tone I usually write in: A Couple o' Coppers and a Lute & The Faceless Knight and Midnight Looking forward to the opportunity to join you guys in this fantastic project! Cheers, bl4nkp4gescr1be
  14. So here's my updated application. This time with a much more thorough 4 page quest outline. I am also currently writing another but i figured i should just present this first as my other quest is definitely more dark. My fault on the double file upload the second one is the one that works. beyond skyrim quest application= HOME INVASION.docx beyond skyrim quest application= HOME INVASION.docx
  15. Application: Dialogue/ Quest writer

Hello beyond skyrim team! Im a 21 year old student studying for political science. I have a huge passion for elder scrolls, as a series they have truly held a special place in my heart since I first played morrowind as a child. I enjoy writing needless to say and have provided a dialogue sample below with a tavern keeper in the imperial city. Thanks. (* you enter a tavern and talk rumors with the tavern keeper, this specific rumor involves an old imperial man giving away his $ to various mer in elven gardens district *) Rumors: I don't know many rumors, but Bjorn stomped in the other day furious because i believe he said " a pointy eared bastard" got 200 septims in the garden district from an old imperial. *leads to* Did you say 200 septims?- From what I could make out between Bjorn's appalling breath and honey mead induced rage yes 200 septims. * leads to addition of misc objective in journal that leads to full quest- talk to Bjorn about the old imperial.* *rumor topic over but various general dialogue options have been added about Bjorn if you talk to the tavern keeper* What does Bjorn have against elves?- I couldn't tell you if I tried traveler, divines know he holds the grisly bottom end of his boots in higher regard though. Not much of a loss there anyway, the brute couldn't even make a human friend if nirn depended on it. Where can I find Bjorn- You can find him at the east empire company warehouse, hes a dock worker. Won't shut up about all the argonians he has to work with. * ( misc quest added to journal/this leads to a small quest )* sounds like you and Bjorn have a history?- Yes actually, if it sounds like I dislike him that's because I do. Foolish nord oaf asked for a 100 septim loan. Being the good imperial I am, of course I accommodated him!... with a little interest on the side to make a small profit naturally. But it's been months and he hasn't said a word! * leads to * Have you talked to him?- Errr no, you see Bjorn is prone to violence, about twice my size... so it wouldn't exactly spell good things in my future. * which then leads to several options* I can do that for you- That would be beyond splendid, can't say I understand what would compel you to do that for free... but it's greatly welcomed and appreciated. He owes me 200 septims now with interest. If you want feel free to squeeze a little more out of him for both of us huh? I can do that for you as long as you give me some of that interest as a reward- Ugh! Fine I'll give you 100 septims, he originally owed me 200 but as long as I break even on this I could care less. If you want feel free to squeeze a little more out of him for both of us huh? Your on your own- I realize that. * tavern keeper attempts to get more money out of him at the end regardless of what you say because he's a greedy dude and it's a reflection of his character. * When questioning Bjorn for money- player is given options to either get the money in full, extort Bjorn for more money using persuasion intimidation etc, or work with Bjorn to rob the imperial tavern keeper blind maybe along with other possible options.
  16. Duathfel [WIP]

I've been working for a long time on a mod entitled Duathfel. While it is far from being finished it is getting closer to being done and so I want to start getting the word out about it. What is the mod you ask? Duathfel roughly translates as “Fire City” from Dwemeris, the language of the Deep Elves. The mod takes place in a large Dwarven complex situated far to the north, deep in the bedrock under the Sea of Ghosts. Being so far north, the Dwemer dug deep to reach warmer depths within the rock. In the Duathfel mod, join an expedition to rediscover the lost secrets of Duathfel and the Dwemer. While of course, I'm not Bethesda, so nothing I make is canon, I'm trying hard to keep everything lore friendly and as much in line with what is already known about the Dwemer, while offering some ideas on what remains unknown. The mod will offer a main questline and several side quests that dig deeper into the lore, culture, technology, and magic of the Dwemer. I'm still in the process of fleshing out the quest lines, so if you do take a look at the work in progress file, bear in mind that it does not really have a working quest yet. You can find the most recent Duathfel file on the Nexus here I am also posting regular updates to duathfel.wordpress.com So, I hear you ask, why bother posting about it at all if it isn't finished? Good question hypothetical person! Well, there are actually several reasons: First, knowing that others are able to see and enjoy what I've made so far is a big motivation in finishing this project. (When it's just me, it's a lot easier to just put things off and never make any real progress.)Secondly, I'm looking for people to help me. Like most, I'm self-taught when it comes to modding. I'm a smart guy and I know that I can eventually figure out how to do whatever I need to, but that doesn't necessarily mean I should. I'm quite skilled at actually building the worldspaces and interiors I need, less so when it comes to setting up quests, scripts, and the like. I know with time and effort I can become much better, unfortunately, I don't have all the time in the world. If you are interested in helping let me know as well as what some of your strengths are. Some areas where I'm looking for help are:Quest making (This may also include writing the quests as well, I have an outline and some dialogue, but its always nice to get new ideas)Scripting (I know very little about what is and is not possible through scripting... This goes beyond simply making things happen and has implications on the story, i.e. what you can and can't do within the Skyrim engine.)Worldspace Navmeshing (I'm okay with interiors... it's the exteriors that scare me )Modeling (a few custom assets here and there would go a long way to giving the mod a unique feel as opposed to using purely vanilla assets)Texturing (same as above, even just re-skinned vanilla meshes add variety)Weather, Lighting, FX, etc. (I do a fair job, but if you're a wizard at this and want to help, let me know)Finally, while the mod is far from being done, it feels like I'm on the downhill portion now. Maybe the finish line isn't in sight yet, but certainly around the bend. I figure now is the time to start talking about it, so when the time comes to release, you'll already know about it!Feel free to check out what I have so far and leave a comment! Any advice or suggestions are more than welcome. Just FYI: While I'm working on this mod using Classic Skyrim and Creation Kit, My goal is to port it to PC Special Edition and XBox (no expected release for PS4 due to their external assets limits)
  17. Hello! My name is Evan G. and I am known as Scatmansgambit by the community. Out of personal preference I would not like to share my last name until my application is reviewed. I am 18 years old, and an experienced writer. I have written many short stories and I am currently at Loyola University New Orleans, majoring in Film and Digital Media Writing with a concentration in Video Games. None of my works have become published yet, but I hope to show you some of my work as soon as you ask for it. I would love to work on any of the available provinces, but I am very well versed on the lore of Atmora, Black Marsh, Roscrea, Morrowind, Thraas, and High Rock. I am also a very huge lore lover! I have played ESO, Oblivion, and Skyrim. I will also be attaching a short story. One that I have made specifically for this application. I will be 100% devoted to this program (when I am not at college!). Thank you all so much and I am looking forward to and am very excited to be joining the Beyond Skyrim team! 19. Interesting Followers Have you ever felt like there are too many follower mods with plastic, anime-style, big b00b female NPCs that add nothing to the game? Or maybe you feel like followers should be earned by something more than a simple “Follow me, I need your help”? Perhaps you are simply tired of downloading dozens of new single followers mods only to discard most of them because they don’t fit your playstyle? Or the follower is great and well-made but doesn’t really fit the Skyrim world? Interesting Followers aims to change that. This mod brings several new, lore-friendly NPCs to the world of Skyrim, each with their own goals, motives, dialogues and possible interactions. The work is inspired by another great mod, Interesting NPCs. There are 3 categories of followers added: Quest Followers - the core of the mod. There are 7 followers and each one has the quest associated with him which you have to complete in order to gain access to their services. The quests are simple in mind but will fit in the NPCs background.Travellers - these followers are travelling around Skyrim and are available when player reach certain level (usually between 5-15). They don't have any quests on their own but will present interesting backstories and goals.Mercenaries - just like vanilla hirelings, they will be available after paying with gold. Not a whole lot of dialogue but they will have custom voice as well.Followers will level up alongside the player and can be found at various locations all around Skyrim (to complement stuff like Live Another Life & other random start mods). Not all of the followers are proficient in combat (though they have necessary skills to survive) but they’re certainly an interesting addition to the player’s endeavours. Because of the amount of followers, even if you got bored with one, you can try another without switching to different mod. Followers will blend in the world of Skyrim, giving you the feel that they were always there. That means I am not going to use any fancy editors for designing NPC. If you're looking for anime-style companions, there are thousands of them on Nexus. Give me some feedback! Quest Followers Savius Corentus – son of a wealthy merchant from Anvil, this young Imperial doesn’t know much about the world outside of Corentus Manor. Sent by his father on an impossible mission, Savius tries very hard to adjust his new life. Don’t judge his indecisive approach too harsh, as he will learn to handle himself and become valuable ally. Erlena – you may think of yourself as an adventurer but you’re nowhere near Erlena. This strong Nord woman travelled across Tamriel for most of her life. She knows how to handle herself in difficult situations. While certainly not running away from danger, years of travelling taught her to not jump into every fire on her way. It’s hard to gain trust of this lady but if you do, she has dozens of interesting stories to tell. Vimis – what would you do if you wanted to join Thieves Guild so badly? Steal of course. But sometimes you steal from the wrong person and you may lose more than you’ve gained. Vimis made some really bad life choices, which made him lose confidence. Despite that, his ambitions are high and he’s yet to surprise the Riften’s Thieves. Why? Because there’s nothing else to lose for this Dunmer. Sherenlakh – the age does not make you a man. Your deeds do. And Sherenlakh did a lot in his life to earn respect of other orcs. Sometimes it was bloody. Sometimes it was painful. Sometimes he had to lose to win the other day. Sometimes the victory was too bitter to swallow. But he will prevail, at any cost. He may be rough, he may dislike you but he will give you a chance. Chance to prove your worth. Deriael – you would think that anyone else in his position would lose spirit and give up. But this mysterious Bosmer has few aces up his sleeve. Sometimes he says things that make no sense. Sometimes he may forget who’s the leader. He’s honest, some would say ‘self-centered’. If you expect another silent type to carry your gear, walk away and hire Marcurio, because Deriael has much more to offer than that. Brelg-haz – making your way up from Underworks Arena to the surface of Vivec is an impossible thing to accomplish, yet this Argonian not only did that but escaped her slave masters as well. She dislikes big, crowded cities, remembering all the pain she had to suffer. Although Brelg-haz is a competent all-round warrior, she acts best with a bow and arrow. You may find it difficult to convince her to leave her hideout, but if you do, she may become a strong ally. Nelesane – with quite peculiar and interesting view on the world creation and religion, she had hard times adapting to the standards of her home town. To prove her beliefs, she ventured out and visited well-known sacred places around Tamriel. Calm and serene, with healing magic at hand she never lost her way in life. Sometimes you may stop and hear her out, because when she speaks, it's wisdom. Main goals and to do list Detailed spreadsheet here - design NPCs - in progress Stage 1) Quest Followers - done! 20. HAIL TALOS HAIL HEIMSKR HAIL BEYOND SKYRIM I recently read on the forums that the SoSK questline will involve some major political factions of Cyrodiil trying to gain power after the Emperor supposedly died (not necessarily from the players' actions in the DB questline). I have some questions. Firstly, will all of these factions be joinable? Can we betray the faction of choice later on? Will there be consequences from our choices and actions in the questline, and if so, a hint if I may? Will the rewards given in the questline be like standard Vanilla rewards, like Items and Gold, or will there be rewards involving Political Power and Fame? And finally, will the questline affect other quests in the Cyrodiil province and in other provinces, as well as the way the player is faced in these provinces? Please don't kill me if this is not the right place to post these kind of questions, I didn't really know Oh, and sorry if my English is bad, I'm Greek.
  21. I have little experience in modding, but much time and I'm eager to learn. I am interested mainly in quest making, but anything else is also welcome. I do not need a teacher, I prefer watching YouTube tutorials by myself. Let me know if I can be of any help! PS: keep up with the great work!!
  22. Looking to Join the Project

Hi all, I'm a relatively new Skyrim modder. I recently graduated from the Arcane University here, and was looking to join the project. I'd like to join primarily to gain knowledge and experience regarding making mods, but also because I'd really like to learn and be a devoted part of this group. I'd like to be someone who helped to bring this idea to life. I'm quite good with literature and writing, as well as with quest planning and design. I enjoy character building and planning and fancy myself fairly good at it as well. I know the lore of Skyrim and Oblivion and would be quick to catch up with the lore from whichever project I was in should I be put there. Feel free to email me at jgprogramming0234@gmail.com -- whether it be with questions or criticism. Thanks, Jay
  23. Help Needed (SCENES)

Good evening, guys. Once more I come here to ask you for help, masters. I'm having some problems with a scene here. I've made many scenes, but this has never happened before. The NPC is supposed to walk to the first marker and say his dialogue. Then, he's supposed to move to the next marker and say his next sentence. Then, next marker and next sentence. Done. Scene is complete. It's pretty simple. The problem is: the NPC only does the first two phases of the scene. He walks to the first marker and say the first sentence. Then he stops. Doesn't move to the next marker, and doesn't say a word. Just stands there, empty. It's the third time I recreate the mod from scratch. The last time I recreated the mod, the NPC was able to say his second sentence, but never moved to the second marker, dunno why. What am I doing wrong? I've made scenes before, and they always worked like a charm, but this one in particular is giving me trouble.
  24. So I am in charge of making the worldspace of the Shivering Isles. I have made some towns and NPC's with quests in mind. This thread will be for me to post ideas and for others to post ideas for quests as well. I will list what I have below and add in any others that are decided on amongst the discussion below. -Jesters College - A unique college that the player can join, with a quest for enrolling and participating in the college, as well as a quest to assist the college itself. The college consist of aspiring Jesters who wish to one day serve the Mad God himself. ( Details to either quest have not been ironed out, you may discuss ideas below if you wish ) - Ressurection of Split - A town from the original Shivering Isles really stood out to me, and that was the quest in the town; Split. Basically this is a large nostalgic reference to those who played the original and the quest will be the same recurring quest. I will explain it for those who didn't play the original; The town had a mage/wizard enter and make duplicates of everyone over night, when they awoke there were dopplegangers of each resident, one representing their more Manic side, the other being more Demented. Each group of either doppleganger would try to convince you to kill their significant other. - Mad Dragon Quest - Basically there would be a dragon that was absolutely, 100% bonkers. Sheogorath, in his time visiting Skyrim ( where you encounter him and do his Daedric Quest in the Vanilla Skyrim ) noticed the Dragons, and was very intrigued by them, so he being the creative mind that he is... he made himself one, but was rather bored with it, so to spice things up he split the mind in two, making the dragon extremely unpredictable and scitzophranic. This dragon would be highly feared by residents all over the Isles, and one of the most feared/hardest enemies encounter on the map. Sheogorath, while amused with his creation; knows that he is creating quite a bit of havoc in his realm, and has grown a bit frustrated with him, so he orders you to kill it. The dragon would be voice acted, and would be VERY unpredictable, synical, paranoid, and oddly optimistic of his insane mind. - Frog or Lizard? - This quest involves an Argonian who lives in a shack in a highly populated area of Grummites, Scalon and Baliwogs. He has the idea that this race of somewhat sentient beings are much more intellegent than that is believed by most. He tries to convince you to somehow make your way to the heart of their den and make a peace offering to their leader and make some kind of communication, to show acceptence of their kind and let them join society. This mission will have two options, to either convince them ( resulting in more friendly Grummites/Baliwogs/Scalons to be encountered on the map ), or to turn against the Argonian and take a offering a unique ceremonial weapon from them and use it to kill the Argonian, and keep the unique/powerful artifact. Have any suggestions? Want to give me some critique? Post/discuss below.
  25. [WIP] Atmora: Elder Truth Past

Atmora, the frozen continent, had grabbed my attention some time ago. A few years back, I got very much into Skyrim. Playing both the Elder Scrolls series and later Minecraft, I found myself getting into an Elder Scrolls Roleplay server. Not long into the days of the server, the best obvious setting from landscape to lore was Atmora. Some time after joining, I found myself working up and eventually getting to be an Admin. There was an overall great community of TES enthusiasts on the server, but unfortunately the server would become accidentally lost. In general, this server kept the fantastic elements of TES in mind, both working best on balancing lore-friendliness and community input. The goal of this mod is finishing the legacy of the server so that players of Skyrim may also find fascination & explore old Atmora firsthand. So far, I have only so much done on this mod working alone, but I will best proceed to get such a mod worked on by whomever would choose to join. In terms of mod preparation, a significant amount of writing & research has been done to a point that the main work ahead is continuing creation of the new land. So far I have only been able to height-map the main island (though some mountains may need smoothing / widening), though eventually the continent will have a few coastal islands and several city world-spaces. So far, I have a few things I can show on the forums, but this project is very much in an Alpha stage. Some of the things I have to show are links for the old server listing, the server forums, and a Minecraft map I have been making. I may also show pictures of the mod in the Creation Kit or in Skyrim at some later point. Links: - http://tesatmora.enjin.com - http://www.planetminecraft.com/server/elder-scrolls-role-play-server/ - http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/elder-scrolls--atmora--map-/ The plot of the mod begins when the player obtains one or more ancient tomes & the Wooden Mask in Skyrim's ruins, proceeding to enact an ancient ritual atop a mountain. What happens is unexpected time-travel into the Merethic era, ending up dragon-dropped & on an Atmoran ship (fishing ship?), waking up near Jylkurfyk. From there one may fight in war, try to halt the Great Freeze / Frost Fall, & choose to save the Atmorans if you so wish. One may be able to glimpse the land before it was encased by frozen maws (ice, time-freeze, stagnation, extinction). That is the main idea of the plan, of course I will not be putting up too many spoilers too soon. **Note: the map of Atmora is not the map of pre-freeze times, but shows what happened after eons over similar landscapes. I imagine that many things in the mod could also look like some of the concept art from Skyrim: https://www.flickr.com/photos/47857688@N08/sets/72157629321466509/
